Senior Business Operations Manager
About the role
The Senior Business Operations Manager in Skydio’s supply chain team will oversee sourcing strategies, commercial negotiations, and cost management for high-quality companion products, attachments, and accessories. This role also involves managing product costs for Skydio’s drones and docks.
Responsibilities
- Engage with product management and engineering teams to establish supply chain and manufacturing strategies
- Conduct market analysis for global manufacturing landscapes and trends to inform supply chain optimization
- Sourcing potential contract manufacturers (CMs), conducting Request for Information (RFI)/Request for Quotation (RFQ)s, and driving the selection process in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Negotiate master contracts, Statement of Work (SOW), and costs with CM/suppliers
- Establish and own program costs from New Product Research and Engineering (NRE), tooling, equipment, and testing
- Analyze, validate, and negotiate Bill-Of-Materials (BOM) costs by collaborating with General Supply Managers (GSMs) and Command and Data Management (CMD)
- Drive forecasts, materials management (like Component Take-Back process), and supply plan commitments with CM/suppliers
- Manage procurement operations with CMs (Purchase Orders, Invoices, etc.)
- Establish early product cost estimates, drive cost iterations and management throughout the product lifecycle, and own data analysis and reporting for efficiency improvement initiatives
- Develop a comprehensive cost optimization roadmap and collaborate with Hardware Operations systems team to identify risks and opportunities in the supply chain for supply continuity
- Assist in developing supplier segmentation and implementation for driving optimized supply chain operations
Requirements
- Strong practical knowledge and enjoyment of manufacturing and supply chain
- Experience in establishing strategic partnerships and conducting complex negotiations
- Proficiency in data analytics and ability to thrive in a data-driven culture
- Ability to understand strategic goals and effectively communicate detailed plans across various management levels as well as multiple regional and geographic locations
- Ability to prepare and present comparative analysis of sourcing strategies
- Experience managing supplier relationships and performance, including dispute resolution
- Interest in emerging technologies spanning consumer electronics, aerospace, and robotics
- Detail-oriented, team-oriented, with enthusiasm for learning new things
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong ethics, and professionalism

Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $139,000 - $198,000*
