About the role

The Senior Director of Business Development will lead the expansion of STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES' commercial/public market business. This role involves collaborating with the Engineering and Contractors teams to develop and sell solutions that meet the needs of valued clients. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience building relationships and expanding a client base in the commercial/public market, preferably in selling specialty construction services or products/services to general contracting firms.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and track progress of developed commercial/public market business plans
  • Helps sales team develop, maintain, and expand business relationships within the commercial public markets across North America
  • Follow up, pursue, and communicate information on projects and client leads provided by Marketing
  • Participate in project review calls and maintain up to date CRM listings for Strengthening projects
  • Update the existing company contact databases with new contacts obtained from presentations, meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Proactively work with business development team, and independently, to expand the Company's relationships and clients
  • Identify opportunities and manage pursuit of projects to achieve annual sales goals
  • Collaborate with internal teams including estimating, construction operations, technical support and management to develop and sell solutions
  • Participate in client meetings, workshop facilitation, lunch & learns, trade shows, and other typical business development activities
  • Support the sales team by giving presentations to potential clients on our product and construction offerings
  • Aid in drafting proposals for Strengthening projects and assembling bid packages as necessary or requested
  • Attend jobsite walks and pre-bid meetings as needed

Requirements

  • Preferably selling specialty construction services or products/services to general contracting firms
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a business development or client services leadership role
  • Experience working in an environment where account and pursuit activity is managed in a CRM, preferably Salesforce
  • Track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales goals / quotas utilizing a CRM system
  • Capable of leading sales functions on high-value projects
  • Working knowledge of commercial/public projects and how to position technology-driven solutions

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience building relationships and expanding a client base in the commercial/public market
  • Bachelor’s degree may be given preference
