About the role

The Senior Business Development Director is responsible for the development and expansion of new business opportunities within established accounts and prospective clients by providing leadership for overall business planning. S/he identifies and develops sales leads and liaises with Proposals and Contracts in managing the sales process through contract closure. In addition, the Senior Business Development Director prepares and conducts project-specific client presentations in collaboration with the functional departments related to Veristat’s core services and capabilities. The Senior Business Development Director will liaise between the client and Company on all sales activities and requirements to expand the Company’s visibility, name recognition, and professional credibility in the market. S/he will also assist with the development of promotional material to promote the Company’s recognition in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops sales leads
  • Liaises with Proposals and Contracts in managing the sales process through contract closure
  • Prepares and conducts project-specific client presentations
  • Liaises between the client and Company on all sales activities and requirements
  • Affords assistance in developing promotional material
  • Works closely with Project Management and Finance to establish key strategic partnerships with new and existing clients
  • Collaborates with all functional groups within Veristat to enhance Company performance and client relations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business, science, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience selling services in a CRO / pharmaceutical / biotechnology / life sciences industry, with expert knowledge of the clinical research process and requirements
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to prepare and deliver high-quality capabilities and sales presentations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with proposal development, contract negotiation and closing a contract
  • Ability to learn quickly and assimilate the detail of project requirements
  • Ability to be flexible and easily multitask
  • Strong computer skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Prior Salesforce experience strongly preferred

Pay

The estimated hiring range for this role is $185-200k USD plus applicable bonus or commissions plans based on positions. This hiring range is specific to the US and will vary for other regions based upon local market data. Final salary is ultimately decided upon taking into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to: skills and experience, licensure and certifications, education, specific location and dynamic market data.
