Senior Business Banking Credit Underwriter

Job Responsibilities

• Review various personal and business financial statements and reports to calculate financial ratios and complete financial analysis to assess the overall creditworthiness of loan applicants.
• Aid sales and fulfillment partners from the loan application stage through the loan closing process.
• Deliver credit decisions within the individual’s assigned credit authority and will seek escalated approval authority as necessary.
• Mentor junior colleagues through credit investigations to assist overall team advancement in rendering sound credit decisions.
• All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to assistance with audits, compliance, asset recovery management, and other Bank initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with a background in finance or accounting.
• Must have 5+ years of credit review experience, including demonstrated experience analyzing business and personal financial statements with a proven ability to independently render sound credit decisions.
• Must possess strong knowledge of Small Business/Business Banking loan underwriting, including hands-on experience with new loan originations, financial analysis, and deal structuring.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with both internal and external partners.
• Must have thorough knowledge of credit and regulatory policies.
• Must demonstrate excellent analytical skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Pay

Salary Range: $64,491.00 - $105,949.50
Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.

The Business Banking Credit Underwriter is responsible for underwriting commercial loans according to the Bank’s lending policy and ensuring a high standard of quality and that all procedures are met.
