Senior Build Engineer
About the role
The Senior Build Engineer will modernize and maintain our build and deployment infrastructure across a diverse technology stack. This role is instrumental in transforming our current CI/CD processes and establishing best practices that enable our development teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Modernize and optimize existing Jenkins-based build and deployment systems
- Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines across multiple platforms including Salesforce, AWS, Azure, and WSO2
- Maintain and enhance build automation processes to improve reliability and reduce deployment times
- Manage and optimize BitBucket repositories and branching strategies
- Configure and maintain VS Code build tooling and extensions for development teams
- Manage and execute deployments, including scheduled releases and ad-hoc hotfixes, in coordination with cross-functional teams
- Monitor build system performance and proactively address issues
- Implement security best practices across the build and deployment pipeline
- Create, maintain, and continuously update comprehensive documentation of build systems, processes, and procedures
- Develop training materials and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing for development teams on build systems changes, new tools, and best practices
- Document deployment runbooks and troubleshooting guides
- Provide technical guidance and support to developers on build-related issues
- Champion continuous improvement and proactive issue resolution
- Act as the primary point of contact for build and deployment questions
Requirements

- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience in build engineering, DevOps, or related roles
- Proven track record of modernizing legacy build systems
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- History of successful collaboration with development and operations teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong documentation and technical writing abilities
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to code quality and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Experience with WSO2 platform and integration technologies
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, Jenkins, etc.)
- Background in software development
Skills
- Strong experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD platforms
- Proficiency with Git and BitBucket for source control management
- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms and their deployment services
- Familiarity with Salesforce deployment processes and tools (SFDX, Metadata API, etc.)
- Knowledge of build automation and scripting (Bash, Python, Groovy, or similar)
- Experience with VS Code and development environment configuration
- Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
