Senior Budget & Management Analyst
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Budget & Management Analyst to provide critical financial and programmatic support to government program managers overseeing the execution of space acquisition contracts under the SAF/SQ program. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in DoD acquisition execution oversight, spend plan management, and cost/schedule performance monitoring across complex defense programs.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze program execution across multiple space acquisition contracts; track obligations, expenditures, and schedule performance against program baselines
- Develop and maintain spend plans, funding execution reports, and financial status briefings for weekly and monthly program reviews
- Review contractor cost and schedule performance data including EVMS data; identify variances, assess root causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Provide inputs and support on technical and/or programmatic status reporting of individual projects, programs, or portfolios
- Coverage with contracting officers, program managers, and financial management staff to ensure proper funding assignment and execution
- Identify areas of improvement with actionable, feasible recommendations and tasks for reducing risk; support risk identification and mitigation planning
- Track congressionally directed changes and continuing resolution impacts; assess implications for program execution and advise government leadership accordingly
- Support the development, delivery, review, and evaluation of impact analyses, audits, compliance inspections, and readiness reviews
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, management, or a related field; 8+ years of experience in DoD budget execution, program management support, or acquisition financial management
- Strong knowledge of DoD appropriations, continuing resolution authorities, and fund certification processes
- Proficiency with DoD financial systems and program management tools; experience with ABIDES, CRIS, or equivalent platforms
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial data into clear executive briefings and written products
- Knowledgeable with respect to DoD, Air Force, and Space Force acquisition and financial management processes and procedures
- Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- CDFM, PMP, or DAU Program Management certification
- Prior experience supporting space acquisition program offices or Air Force/Space Force financial execution
- Previous experience supporting RDT&E organizations/programs
Pay
The salary range for this role is $ 150,000 - 180,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
