Qualifications
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate to coordinate the development and administration of department budget(s)
- Provide technical expertise on budget development
- Recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and guidelines that are compliant
- Recommend increases, decreases, and redirections
- Analyze and evaluate the working budget to ensure accurate coding and spending
- Review allocations and expenditures for compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and grants
- Research and determine costs for new programs and initiatives
- Reconcile the state budget system against the district budget system
- Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
- Prepare complex fiscal and statistical reports, including budget status, fiscal impact analysis, revenue and expense projections, and other financial reports
- Develop and deliver presentations and trainings as requested
- Participate in professional development workshops and other meetings
- Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
Essential Functions

- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public school system financial policies
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school system finances
- Thorough knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards regarding funding, accounting, and auditing principles
- Ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress
- Ability to reflect appropriate response to situations, while maintaining a professional and personal demeanor
- Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs
- Ability to develop and monitor a budget
- Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily business operations
