Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients, technical staff, accounting staff, and other support staff to manage overall project deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
  • Lead teams of engineers and technicians producing drawings and calculations along with supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of other engineers.
  • Prepare work plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Perform structural analysis, design, evaluation and be responsible for the preparation of calculations and drawings.
  • Prepare standard documents, such as technical specifications, under applicable design codes along with engineering reports and other technical documents.
  • Research and review design options for both technical and financial impact.
  • Liaise with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structures focus, a master’s degree preferred
  • 8 to 15 years of related experience in Bridge Design and Project Management
  • Preferably have experience with complex bridges and 3D structural modeling using software such as CSI Bridge, Sofistik, and ADINA
  • Have advanced technical skills and experience in the design and construction of bridges and working with modern bridge design codes
  • Be a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia, Maryland, DC or can obtain
  • Preferably have experience with preparing proposals and leading in business development
