Senior Brand Manager, Axe Demand Generation and Performance Lead
About the Role
The Senior Brand Manager serves as the lead of the Axe Engagement team, driving the Engagement go-to-market strategy. This role oversees the creation of all paid content, manages go-to-market engagement activities, and ensures a streamlined digital workflow supporting the brand’s growth objectives in-store and online. The position requires strong ownership and the ability to work independently, driving Axe campaigns from conception to execution.
The Senior Brand Manager fosters cross-functional collaboration with internal teams such as CMI, Innovation, Supply Chain, CS&P, and Finance to align brand communications with long-term growth ambitions and integrate performance strategies with the wider business plan. The role also involves immersing in the culture of Axe’s target demographic—young guys—to identify authentic opportunities for connection, ensuring the brand remains relevant. This position reports directly to the Head of Axe for the US.
Responsibilities
- Lead the briefing processes for Brand Say content, including video, social, display, and commerce assets, by translating consumer insights, brand strategy, and category trends into content strategy matrices.
- Oversee the Integrated Agency Team (IAT), including Media, PR, Social, Creative, and Influencer experts, through weekly check-ins to ensure campaign progress and growth.
- Own and understand the brand’s P&L, including budget management, gross margin optimization, and forecasting.
- Monitor and optimize key brand metrics such as market share, share forecast, monthly shipments, brand health, and shopper metrics.
- Lead monthly performance reviews using Circana/Numerator data to derive insights and enhance brand competitiveness.
- Collaborate with Customer and Shopper Marketing teams to align campaigns across all touchpoints and maximize retail impact.
- Lead in-store executions and ensure Shopper Marketing amplifies national campaigns with a retailer-focused approach.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant branding/marketing experience (MBA preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for driving campaigns and growth.
- Analytical proficiency in forecasting, budgeting, and brand performance metrics.
- Bias for action: ability to independently drive key workstreams.
- Owner’s mindset: embracing Unilever’s core behaviors, particularly thinking three steps ahead.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $119,400 to $179,000. Compensation decisions consider skill sets, experience, training, qualifications, and business needs.
This position is bonus-eligible and Long-Term Incentive (LTI) eligible.
