Senior Brand Designer
About the role
Play a pivotal role in defining and executing engaging, performance-driven work as part of the Content and Creative team. Responsible for ideation, exploration, and implementation of visuals across mediums and channels, with a focus on continually improving campaigns and the Marqeta brand.
Responsibilities
- Create visual systems that tell clear stories and leave an impression on our audiences and Marqeta’s visual brand.
- Produce end-to-end creative for campaigns, across various channels and brand surfaces.
- Build wireframes and create visuals for responsive web experiences that drive conversion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define strategic approaches and design effective, compelling presentations.
- Help scale our design impact by implementing design systems, leveraging automation tools, building effective templates, collaborating with our data and insights teams to test and optimize our work, and evolving/adjusting our processes for an increasingly efficient workflow.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years experience in brand design, in-house or agency.
- Portfolio of work demonstrating excellent design across a range of channels/surfaces and strong process.
- Skilled in Figma (collaborative use of features including building and using brand libraries, variables and components), Adobe Creative Suite (3D and motion preferred), and Google Docs.
- Excellent design principles and fundamentals: layout, hierarchy, balance, typography, color theory.
- Pixel-perfect attention to detail.
- “Show your work” through process and iteration, demonstrated in portfolio.
- Flexible and adaptable to create great work in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
- Manage your calendar and work flow effectively to maximize productivity.
- Spirit of curiosity and drive to seek new ground, with a desire to learn new things to address skills gaps on the team and drive personal and career growth.
Qualifications
- Motion design capabilities.
- 3D capabilities.
- Web UX design experience.
- B2B and in-house experience preferred.
Skills

Pay
The new-hire base salary range for this position is: National: $98,200 - $122,700, Premium: $106,200 - $132,800, Premium Plus: $115,400 - $144,300.
