About the role

The Senior Branch Driver is responsible for delivering products to and from customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). This role ensures deliveries are prepared efficiently, materials are correct and undamaged, and all documentation is completed accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects; complete a daily inspection report.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, service, and repairs; alert supervisor of any needed maintenance.
  • Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload vehicle, verifying all materials for each order (quantity and type) are correct and undamaged before departure.
  • Assist in preparing orders for delivery as needed.
  • Ensure all delivery documentation is thoroughly completed, including customer-signed receipts, packing lists, and branch/warehouse manifests.
  • Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition, verify quantities, and confirm catalog numbers.
  • Pick up materials from company suppliers.
  • Mentor and train entry-level truck drivers.
  • Perform other branch duties as required, including counter sales, order preparation, receiving, stocking, staging, shipping, and maintaining branch equipment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record review.
  • Must obtain a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
  • No driver’s license suspensions for traffic accidents/violations in the past 3 years.
  • No at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.

Skills

  • Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not exceeding 26,000 GVW.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws.
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

    • Up to 50 pounds: Frequently (21% to 50% of the time).

Working Environment

  • Exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical conditions (e.g., high noise levels, heat, cold): Occasionally (up to 20% of the time).
  • Exposure to electrical hazards and risk of electrical shock: Occasionally (up to 20% of the time).
  • Handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment: Frequently (21% to 50% of the time).
  • Travel to offsite locations: Constantly (at least 51% of the time).

Pay

$20.86 to $26.08 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
