Senior Billing & Collection Specialist

Responsibilities
- Review customer contracts and correspondence, interpreting ambiguous contract language to determine correct billing treatment
- Process invoices and credit memos for complex or non-standard billing scenarios
- Guide and support teammates on invoice processing workflows within Zone
- Respond to customer billing inquiries via email, researching and providing accurate answers in a timely manner
- Perform daily cash application: match incoming customer payments to invoices and post accordingly
- Own follow-up on past-due accounts, coordinating escalations with Fund Admin/CX as needed
- Maintain AR aging and flag at-risk balances to the Billing & Collections Manager
- Participate in ongoing process improvements and workflow refinement within Zone (project-based work)
- Manage increased workload during peak Fund Admin billing cycles (December, March, June, September)
- Partner cross-functionally with Deal Desk on contract structuring, and with Fund Admin/CX on billing and collections
- Adept at utilizing AI productivity tools (such as ChatGPT and Claude) to enhance daily workflows
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of professional billing experience, particularly with intricate billing scenarios
- Proven capability to analyze vague contract terms and determine precise billing consequences
- Practical familiarity with Zone or equivalent NetSuite-native billing software, including the ability to train and guide team members
- Proficiency in cash and payment applications, including matching and posting customer payments against invoices
- Familiarity with Salesforce for navigating and extracting contract, account, and opportunity details
- Adept at utilizing AI productivity tools (such as ChatGPT and Claude) to enhance daily workflows
- Background in collections is advantageous, though the primary emphasis remains on billing mastery
- Collaborative mindset with a strong emphasis on teamwork; comfortable guiding colleagues on workflows without needing a formal title
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional internal stakeholders and a proactive approach to asking clarifying questions
- Prior background in the Services and SaaS sectors is preferred
- Highly resourceful with the capability to independently investigate and resolve questions when details are scarce
- Thrives and operates effectively within a high-speed, dynamic workplace
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, particularly utilizing calculations from the Fund Admin team, is a distinct plus

Pay
The U.S. base salary range for this role is $60,000 - $83,000 USD. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
