About the role

The Senior Benefits Administration Services professional at Conduent is responsible for administering and supporting defined benefit pension plans while ensuring compliance with plan provisions, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements. This role serves as a subject matter expert and partners with internal teams, clients, vendors, and participants to deliver accurate and timely pension administration services.

Responsibilities

  • Administer defined benefit pension plans in accordance with plan documents and applicable regulations.
  • Review and process retirement calculations, benefit commencements, distributions, and participant transactions.
  • Research and resolve complex participant inquiries and escalated issues.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Perform quality reviews and audits to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
  • Analyze pension calculations and validate system outputs.
  • Support annual administration activities, including valuation, testing, and regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with clients, actuaries, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure service delivery standards are met.
  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with special projects, system implementations, and client initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to team members on defined benefit processes and procedures.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of benefits administration experience with a strong emphasis on defined benefit pension plans.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and pension administration practices.
  • Experience performing pension calculations and interpreting plan documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with pension administration systems and related technologies preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CEBS designation or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting large corporate or outsourced benefits administration clients.
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading team members.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and quality controls.
