Audit & Cost Accounting Specialist Location: New Britain, CTJob Type: Indefinite Temporary | Potential Temp-to-PermStart Date: ASAP We are seeking an experienced Audit & Cost Accounting professional to provide immediate support within a manufacturing/aerospace environment. This is an indefinite temporary opportunity expected to continue through the completion of key audit support activities, with potential for the role to become permanent. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of audit and cost accounting experience, along with hands-on exposure to inventory accounting and manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Provide audit support for year-end and other financial audit activitiesPerform inventory reconciliations and support inventory audit proceduresAssist with cost accounting, costing analysis, and manufacturing-related financial analysisPerform account reconciliations and balance sheet analysisResearch and resolve discrepancies between financial and operational recordsSupport preparation and documentation for external and internal auditsEnsure accounting activities and reporting are consistent with U.S. GAAPAssist with additional accounting and audit projects as needed Qualifications Audit experience in public accounting, external audit, or internal auditHands-on cost accounting experienceManufacturing industry experience requiredExperience with inventory accounting and inventory audit supportStrong account reconciliation and balance sheet analysis skillsSolid understanding of U.S. GAAPExperience supporting year-end auditsStrong Excel skillsU.S. Citizenship required due to aerospace/government regulatory requirements Preferred Experience Aerospace or defense manufacturing experienceExperience with Epicor ERP or another manufacturing ERP systemAdvanced Excel skillsExperience working in a manufacturing environment where accounting is closely tied to inventory, costing, and operations Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who can hit the ground running and immediately contribute to audit and cost accounting activities.
