Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works to understand the internal financial reporting needs of the organization and transform the delivery of financial information utilizing self-service dashboards, reports, and queries to the extent practical.
- Aid with all school financial statement, compliance, and fiscal program audits.
- Prepare school annual financial statements and related footnotes for financial statement audits.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and consistency through system solutions.
- Perform research of various accounting and government compliance topics.
- Able to balance a complex working environment and manage priorities effectively based on business needs.
- Assist with various month end close responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required, including an understanding of how to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain macros.
- Strong analytical skills, finely tuned attention to detail, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Governmental and/or Not-for-Profit Accounting and Federal Grant compliance requirements is preferred.
Education/License Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience is preferred.
- CPA license preferred but not required.
