Senior Attorney
About the role
Seeking an experienced commercial transactions attorney to support complex commercial transactions for NextEra’s natural‑gas fired generation, data center, and advanced nuclear development businesses. The attorney will draft and negotiate power purchase agreements, tolling agreements, joint venture agreements, joint development agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and other commercial agreements related to these fast‑growing businesses. The ideal candidate is a team player with demonstrated commercial acumen, strong client and stakeholder relations, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, demanding environment. Prior experience with energy commercial transactional work is strongly preferred. This role is onsite at our Juno Beach, FL headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Provide written and oral legal advice to clients.
- Anticipate and guard against legal risks involving the organization.
- Ensure budget compliance and avoid the need for outside counsel.
- Disclose potentially material legal issues to senior leadership.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Member in Good Standing of a State Bar.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Juris Doctorate.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
