About the role
A rapidly growing plaintiffs' litigation firm with an established reputation in employment and consumer class action litigation is expanding its presence in Chicago and seeking an experienced attorney to join its team.
Responsibilities
- Represent employees and consumers in high-impact cases against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies across a wide range of industries.
- Prosecute complex employment and consumer class actions, including matters involving wage-and-hour violations, PAGA claims, unfair business practices, discrimination, and false advertising.
- Manage all phases of litigation, including written discovery and discovery strategy, motion practice, court appearances and oral advocacy, taking and defending depositions, case management, and client interaction.
- Experience with employment litigation, wage-and-hour claims, class actions, collective actions, PAGA matters, or other complex litigation is highly preferred.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in California or Illinois, or licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and eligible for admission in California or Illinois.
- 8+ years of civil litigation experience.
Qualifications
- Strong experience managing all phases of litigation, including: Written discovery and discovery strategy Motion practice Court appearances and oral advocacy Taking and defending depositions Case management and client interaction
Skills
- Experience with employment litigation, wage-and-hour claims, class actions, collective actions, PAGA matters, or other complex litigation is highly preferred.
