We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Sr. Associate to join our dynamic and fast-paced legal team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Insurance Defense. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases, providing a platform to showcase your exceptional legal acumen and strategic thinking.
Responsibilities
- Handle a diverse portfolio of insurance defense cases, independently managing all aspects of litigation from case inception through resolution.
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, and independently develop and present defense strategies.
- Draft and argue a wide range of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct and defend depositions, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court proceedings.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding potential exposure, risk management, and legal rights.
- Collaborate with team members to develop case theories, devise litigation strategies, and prepare for trial.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in laws, and new developments in the insurance defense sector.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Insurance Defense with a strong understanding of insurance law, coverage issues, and litigation procedures.
- Proven track record of managing a high caseload, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a history of successful settlements and verdicts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and make sound legal judgments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
