Responsibilities

• Handle a diverse portfolio of insurance defense cases, independently managing all aspects of litigation from case inception through resolution.
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, and independently develop and present defense strategies.
• Draft and argue a wide range of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct and defend depositions, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court proceedings.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding potential exposure, risk management, and legal rights.
• Collaborate with team members to develop case theories, devise litigation strategies, and prepare for trial.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
• Stay updated on industry trends, changes in laws, and new developments in the insurance defense sector.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar.
• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Insurance Defense with a strong understanding of insurance law, coverage issues, and litigation procedures.
• Proven track record of managing a high caseload, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
• Exceptional negotiation skills with a history of successful settlements and verdicts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and make sound legal judgments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and software.

Salary: $170,000 - $210,000 per year
