About the role

The Gene Engineering and Delivery team in the Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center is seeking a highly motivated scientist to advance next-generation cancer immunotherapies through molecular design, viral vector engineering, and gene delivery innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute molecular design and cloning of complex DNA constructs for cell therapy applications.
  • Culture mammalian cell lines for viral vector production, assessment, and gene delivery applications.
  • Set up and run molecular characterization and cellular assays to evaluate viral vector performance.
  • Develop, optimize, and document viral vector production and characterization protocols.
  • Designs and executes experiments based on protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to assess the technical feasibility of novel gene delivery methods.
  • Analyzes and interprets experimental data.
  • Works within established procedures and in loosely defined problem-solving situations.
  • Works under minimal supervision for both routine activities and non-routine activities.
  • Makes decisions that impact own work and other group/team members.
  • Participates on program/project teams, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed electronic laboratory notebook records and supporting documentation.
  • Summarize and present data in group meetings and written reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline and 4+ years of academic and/or industry experience, or
  • Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline and 2+ years of academic and/or industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional molecular biology skills, including molecular assay development, molecular design and cloning of complex DNA constructs, PCR, RT-PCR, and mRNA and DNA preparation.
  • Experience with tissue culture techniques, including transfection of mammalian cell lines and transduction of T cells.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently design and troubleshoot experiments.
  • Outstanding written, visual, and oral communication skills.
