Senior Associate - Digital Product Management
About the role
As a Product Owner, you will join a team that develops foundational platforms, enabling card members across the full spectrum of digital channels including mobile, email, social, and web. This role will liaise heavily with both internal and external partners, requiring the ability to build and leverage relationships to drive success across cross-functional teams. The successful individual ensures that the Product meets the evolving needs of the enterprise through continual innovation, evaluation, and deployment. This position requires strong organizational, technical, and creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well in a dynamic, complex environment under deadline pressures.
You will coordinate the efforts of one or more scrum teams within a SAFe train (stakeholders, designers, developers, and analytics) to deploy new features across markets and products.
Responsibilities
- Manage the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution.
- Prioritize engineering work and balance the requirements of customers and stakeholders.
- Enable analytics-driven decision making to evolve products and usage.
- Evangelize the product both internally and externally, shepherding products through the development process to achieve the best outcomes.
- Interact with customers to identify needs, opportunities, and gaps, and solve problems.
- Brainstorm and negotiate effectively with various stakeholders to continuously define feature priority.
- Help your team develop products by making difficult tradeoffs and removing roadblocks.
- Prioritize feature/story backlog.
- Lead the breakdown of business features into platform features and stories.
- Lead and/or write stories for scrum teams.
- Champion an Agile mindset and transformation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Product Management and leading projects/teams in a global, complex, fast-paced environment while executing complex projects.
- Strong Travel industry experience and/or experience in an American Express Big Data environment is desirable.
- Hands-on technical knowledge/understanding of data and services, including APIs (RESTful and SOAP) and database storage in a complex/global environment.
- Proven track record of driving innovation and business metrics with a customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and product development or product management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, track, and deliver results while leading teams.
- Proven track record of executing complex initiatives in a collaborative and assertive manner, driving innovation and change management.
- SAFe/Agile Product Owner certification preferred.
- Background in Software Development preferred.
- Background in Travel Product preferred.
