Responsibilities
- Aid in daily deli operations, including food preparation, service, and sales.
- Support the Deli Manager in staff scheduling and labor cost management.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring products are ordered, received, and stocked efficiently.
- Maintain adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, keeping the work area clean and organized.
- Operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely, practicing rotation procedures for proper product date monitoring.
- Assist in hiring high-quality deli team members through effective interviewing and provide training and development.
- Coach and mentor team members to improve performance and enhance customer service skills.
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies to boost sales and quality control measures.
- Monitor and analyze P&L statements to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure the department remains clean, food fresh, fully stocked, and creatively merchandised.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple demands, and meet deadlines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Serv-Safe or similar certification.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in chain retail deli food service or restaurant management.
- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- General understanding of inventory management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of deli food preparation techniques.
- Experience with profit and loss (P&L) management.
