About the role

The Senior Architect will lead project teams to create world-class designs for various project types including corporate, healthcare, data centers, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. Responsibilities include leading the design process from conceptual phase through completion, managing project schedules, budgets, and staffing, and resolving design-related issues during construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Develop, modify, and review production drawings for healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, and governmental and military facilities.
  • Participate in the development of project schedule, scope, budget, staffing planning, and construction planning.
  • Manage change orders and ensure design compliance with project, client, and industry standards.
  • Quality review production drawings and construction administration documentation.
  • Lead field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Participate in sales and marketing efforts and lead key pursuits.
  • Develop cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve financial performance targets.
  • Prepare, present, and manage project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Report project performance and provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the architectural practice.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program with 8 years related experience, or Master's degree with 7 years related experience.
  • Minimum eight years of architectural experience preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills.
  • Expert knowledge of standard architectural concepts, including building codes, ADA standards, exterior envelope design, technical detailing, and specification writing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and organization.
  • Experience in leading design teams for large, complex projects, delegating tasks, and guiding internal and client groups towards successful design outcomes.
  • Experience with construction phase activities, including site visits, shop drawing review, and correspondence with contractors and clients.
  • Registered architect preferred.
