Senior Architect – Mission Critical

About the role

The Senior Architect will lead project teams to create world-class designs for various project types including corporate, healthcare, sport venues, data centers, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. They will adapt architectural plans according to budget constraints, environmental factors, or client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design from conceptual phase through design completion for projects as per project managers' needs and requirements.
  • Develop, modify, and review production drawings for healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, and governmental and military facilities.
  • Participate in the development of project schedules, scopes, budgets, staffing plans, and construction plans.
  • Manage change orders effectively.
  • Apply expert knowledge of architectural concepts, practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Compile studies and reports, write specifications, and find/design non-standard solutions for complex projects.
  • Quality review production drawings and project-related data to ensure design compliance with project, client, and industry standards.
  • Lead field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, customers, and contractors to develop new business opportunities.
  • Participate in sales and marketing efforts, lead key pursuits, prepare cost proposals, and manage project budgets.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the architectural practice, mentor and guide less experienced engineers, and adhere to QA/QC processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program and 8 years related experience, or Master Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program and 7 years related experience.
  • Registered architect preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of standard architectural concepts, including building codes, ADA standards, exterior envelope design, technical detailing, and specification writing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and organization.
  • Experience in leading design teams for large, complex projects, delegating tasks, and guiding internal and client groups towards successful design outcomes.
  • Experience with construction phase activities, including site visits, shop drawing review, and correspondence with contractors and clients.
  • Ability to travel.

Skills

  • Expert software and computer skills, including BIM (Revit), Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software.
