About the role
The Boise office of Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Architect to lead and execute project design, ensure compliance with building codes and accessibility standards, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct work requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard construction components and systems to execute design intent;
- Responsible for stamping and sealing bid documents;
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of professional work in part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope;
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and ADA requirements;
- Aid the Project Director in developing project staff-hours and planning schedule for his/her aspects of the project;
- Cover the layout, design, drafting, and specifications produced by other architects and technicians who assist in specific assignments;
- Mentor junior staff; assist in the development of future project architects;
- Aid the Project Director in establishing project design criteria;
- Stay informed of new developments and systems in the field of architectural practice and design;
- Promote technologies and methodologies to create innovative approaches and improve technical quality of work product;
- Keep abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry;
- Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents, and insure integrated design approaches & solutions.
Qualifications
- Academic, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Manufacturing, or Science & Technology experience preferred;
- Thorough knowledge of architectural practice;
- Thorough knowledge of code principles;
- Experience using Revit software;
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to lead others and foster teamwork;
- Ability to use good judgment and make timely decisions;
- Knowledge of basic firm financial metrics related to project management;
- Proactive management style.
Education and Experience
- Professional degree in Architecture;
- 10 years of related experience;
- Licensed Architect required.
Capabilities and Credentials

- Thorough knowledge of architectural practice;
- Thorough knowledge of code principles;
- Experience using Revit software;
