About the role

The Boise office of Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Architect to lead and execute project design, ensure compliance with building codes and accessibility standards, and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct work requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard construction components and systems to execute design intent;
  • Responsible for stamping and sealing bid documents;
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of professional work in part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and ADA requirements;
  • Aid the Project Director in developing project staff-hours and planning schedule for his/her aspects of the project;
  • Cover the layout, design, drafting, and specifications produced by other architects and technicians who assist in specific assignments;
  • Mentor junior staff; assist in the development of future project architects;
  • Aid the Project Director in establishing project design criteria;
  • Stay informed of new developments and systems in the field of architectural practice and design;
  • Promote technologies and methodologies to create innovative approaches and improve technical quality of work product;
  • Keep abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry;
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents, and insure integrated design approaches & solutions.

Qualifications

  • Academic, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Manufacturing, or Science & Technology experience preferred;
  • Thorough knowledge of architectural practice;
  • Thorough knowledge of code principles;
  • Experience using Revit software;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to lead others and foster teamwork;
  • Ability to use good judgment and make timely decisions;
  • Knowledge of basic firm financial metrics related to project management;
  • Proactive management style.

Education and Experience

  • Professional degree in Architecture;
  • 10 years of related experience;
  • Licensed Architect required.
