About the role

TechInsights is seeking a Senior Market Research Analyst to manage and grow a portfolio of research and benchmarking products for a multinational customer. This role combines hands-on research on refurbished smartphones and online smartphone/tablet sales with leadership of an international research team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, manage and deliver a complex set of quantitative deliverables, including forecasts, addressable markets, and quantitative performance benchmarks.
  • Manage and conduct primary and secondary research on refurbished smartphones and the online sales channel for smartphones and tablets, tracking market trends, pricing, and competitive dynamics.
  • Manage an international research team, overseeing analysis development, quality review, and finalization of client deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client on ongoing inquiries, providing clear, data-driven responses and maintaining a strong working relationship.
  • Ensure consistency and rigor across research methodologies, benchmarking frameworks, and data quality and reporting formats.
  • Cook up timelines and workflows across distributed team members to meet client deadlines.
  • Lead and coordinate with Executive Director in scoping potential new projects and the planning of internal resources and budgeting, as well as external contract resources if necessary.

Requirements

  • Five to seven plus years of experience as an industry analyst in mobile devices or consumer technology; candidates with less experience but strong subject-matter expertise in refurbished smartphones or mobile devices are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience managing benchmarking or tracking studies over multiple reporting cycles would be ideal.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data modelling, advanced formulas, pivot tables).
  • Experience with Domo and/or other data analytics/visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with Python and database applications a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Market Research, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to or managing client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a client-facing, deadline-driven environment.

Pay

Expected salary range: $118,065 to $125,010 USD

Full time, remote position

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

May require extended hours or flexible scheduling to meet project deadlines or accommodate international customers

Occasional need for travel, less than 10%
