Position Summary

The Senior Analyst, Claims Litigation, manages complex workers’ compensation and general liability claims with a focus on litigation risk and resolution. This role involves reviewing claim reports, coordinating with internal and external legal partners, and overseeing litigation strategies to ensure timely and compliant outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Review and analyze initial claim reports to determine compensability and identify potential fraud indicators.
  • Manage complex general liability claims, focusing on litigation and high-risk cases.
  • Collaborate with leadership and counsel to establish claim value, strategy, and resolution paths.
  • Oversee outside counsel to monitor litigation progress and ensure timely resolution.
  • Negotiate settlements and authorize payments within financial authority and regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepare and present claims in reviews to refine strategy and secure settlement approval.
  • Mentor associates on claims handling and litigation processes.

What you'll bring

  • Proven expertise in litigation management and claims resolution within workers’ compensation or general liability contexts.
  • Strong negotiation skills to effectively resolve claims and secure favorable settlements.
  • Experience managing complex claims caseloads, including escalation and collaboration with internal and external legal partners.
  • Proficiency in claims processing, legal discovery, and adherence to jurisdictional statutes and regulatory requirements.
  • Able to establish accurate reserves and authorize payments within financial authority limits.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with injured parties and legal counsel.
  • Commitment to compliance, ethical standards, and continuous improvement in claims handling.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Option 1: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and 2 years’ experience in claims handling.
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in claims handling, including experience with complex or litigated workers’ compensation or general liability claims. Current or prior (within last 3 years) Property & Casualty Adjuster License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field, Industry designations (e.g., AIC, WCCP).
  • Doctorate: Law, Masters: Business Administration.
