Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Senior Aircraft Technician (Mechanical) to join the New Helicopter Completions (NHC) team in Columbus, MS. This role involves detailed inspection, assembly, installation, repair, or replacement of aircraft components and systems, as well as maintenance, refurbishing, and functional checks of aircraft.

About the role

You will be part of a team that performs detailed assembly, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of helicopter systems. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, conducting operational checks, and ensuring airworthiness through inspections and adjustments. The role supports new helicopter completions, STC development, training fleet, and demonstrations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide aircraft maintenance support for new helicopter completions and deliveries, STC development, aircraft training fleet, and demonstrations.
  • Perform detailed assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems and components to determine corrective actions for safety and airworthiness.
  • Conduct airframe calendar/hourly inspections and hidden damage inspections of airframe structures and sub-assemblies.
  • Perform aircraft disassembly and reassembly as required for movement, including loading/offloading aircraft to/from trailers.
  • Perform track and balancing of rotor systems and vibration analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience as an aviation mechanic.
  • Helicopter maintenance experience.
  • An A&P license is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and apply standard shop practices in fabrication and repair modifications.

Physical Requirements

  • 70% onsite work.
  • Able to see and interpret fine details (e.g., blueprints, small components).
