About the role
Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Senior Aircraft Sheetmetal Technician to join the New Helicopter Completions (NHC) team based in Columbus, MS. The role involves performing work on assigned aircraft, assemblies, and parts in the sheet metal area.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to inspect and measure parts before assembly.
- Install sheet metal parts and assemblies in aircraft, ensuring they are securely attached without compromising the aircraft's structure or systems.
- Fitting and assembling skins, frames, and other components, including drilling, fitting, and riveting.
- Work with inspectors to conduct tests to verify proper assembly of parts.
Requirements
- Minimum of six (6) years of related experience, or some experience may be substituted for education normally acquired in obtaining an A&P license or a degree directly related to aircraft sheet metal or composite.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Current Airframe or Powerplant license is preferred but not required.
- Physical requirements include vision, hearing, speaking, operating equipment, carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, squatting/kneeling, standing, traveling, and wearing personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
- Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under our existing ITAR license).
Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and diagrams.
- Knowledge of standard shop practices in the fabrication and repair of aircraft structures.
- Ability to work independently and at short notice.
