About the role
The position is specifically designed for a seasoned surgeon seeking a long-term role within a highly collaborative, academically driven, and clinically advanced Acute Care Surgery program at or able to attain the level of associate professor.
Responsibilities
- Mentorship and teaching within a nationally recognized and expanding Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery
- Participation in program development and partnership within a mature, high-functioning surgical department
- Opportunity to join a highly collegial division where experienced surgeons play an integral role in mentorship, quality initiatives, operational leadership, and the continued evolution of the service line
- Active involvement in resident, fellow, medical student, and APP education
- Faculty research presentations at national meetings including EAST, AAST, and the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress
- Access to the Center for Education, Simulation, and Innovation (CESI), one of the most advanced simulation centers worldwide
- Training programs include ATLS, ATOM, ASSET, and APP procedural bootcamps
- Strong institutional support for investigator-led research, quality improvement, and health system innovation
- Collaboration with Hartford HealthCare’s Innovation Institute on emerging technologies and clinical advancement initiatives
- Creation of a novel Hospital-based violence intervention program database
- Collaborations with MIT and Harvard Medical School
Qualifications
- Board Certified in Surgery
- Eligible to be licensed in CT
- Completion of a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
