Physician - Director of Acute Care Surgery
AtlantiCare Health System seeks a Director of Acute Care Surgery to shape the future of surgical excellence in Southeastern New Jersey.
About the role
Responsible for leading the surgical services department, ensuring high-quality patient care, and driving operational efficiency. Overseeing the coordination of surgical services, managing staff, and collaborating with other departments to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of surgical services to ensure optimal patient care.
- Manage staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance patient flow and streamline operations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to surgical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Surgery or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in acute care surgery, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong clinical skills and a proven track record of successful surgical leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience with hospital management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
