About the role

Fermented Food Holdings Inc is searching for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist based in our Madison, WI office. The position is responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process within Fermented Food Holdings and its subsidiaries. This role ensures that vendors are paid accurately and timely, while maintaining strong relationships and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee high volume invoice processing across entities and brands
  • Receive, review, and process invoices from vendors
  • Ensure invoices are coded correctly and match purchase orders or contracts
  • Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders
  • Enter invoice data into the accounting system accurately
  • Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers
  • Maintain organized records of all payments made
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and any account discrepancies
  • Address and resolve vendor inquiries and disputes
  • Generate periodic accounts payable reports for management review
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Prepare documentation for audits and assist in audit processes
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
  • Aid in month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Support other accounting functions as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of high volume AP experience in a holdings company or matrix environment
  • Proficiency in ERP (NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite
