Senior Accounting Technician
About the role
The Senior Accounting Technician will serve as a key member of the Finance Department by performing complex technical accounting work and supporting the City’s daily financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage developer deposits, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Provide accounts payable support.
- Cook up storm water and miscellaneous accounts receivable billing.
- Administer unclaimed property compliance activities.
Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduation from high school or satisfactory equivalent, supplemented by college level coursework in accounting or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Three years of general or accounting experience, including some statistical or financial record keeping. Municipal experience is highly desirable.

Skills
The ideal candidate should have strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze, reconcile, and manage complex data with a high degree of accuracy and consistency. They should also have experience managing complex data, reconciling accounts, and identifying discrepancies. Experience with pivot tables, lookups, or formulas to improve efficiency or accuracy is preferred. Additionally, experience processing Accounts Payable invoices and ensuring proper approval, coding, and supporting documentation, as well as billing, cash receipts, and account follow-up, is required.

SALARY RANGE $70,166.35 - $87,628.15 Annually $5,847.20 - $7,302.35 Monthly $33.73 - $42.13 Hourly
