At the Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive and provide timely resources in partnership with our community so individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic staff member to join our Operations and Organizational Development Division as a Senior Accounting Technician.

The Senior Accounting Technician is part of the Accounting team for the Department of Human Services. The Accounting Team supports Human Services in the following areas: Accounts Payable, Mileage Reimbursements, Travel Reimbursements, Commercial Cards, CSBG/LCF Grants, Payroll, Trusts, EBT Client Cards, CCAP, and CORE.

Responsibilities

  • Providing exceptional customer service while issuing EBT cards to clients.
  • Entering and maintaining accurate client and financial information in various software systems, including Google Sheets.
  • Reviewing, verifying, and entering Accounts Payable (A/P) invoices into the County system.
  • Collecting client payments, accurately recording transactions, and maintaining payment records across multiple software systems.
  • Preparing and making daily deposits while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Processing EBT mailings as needed.
  • Providing backup support to other EBT Cashiers and assisting with departmental operations as needed.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy when handling client information, payments, and financial records.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Communicate pleasantly, respectfully, clearly, and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with an understanding towards customer service.
  • Must be detail and team oriented.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend department and County rules, regulations, policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
  • Have regular and predictable attendance and must have the ability to understand and use mathematical principles and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience maintaining financial and statistical records in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.

Schedule

This is a full time, in office position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no remote time offered.

Position will be located at one of the following three locations:

  • 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, CO
  • 2555 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins, CO
  • 200 Peridot Avenue, Loveland, CO
