Senior Accounting Manager
About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented experienced Senior Accounting Manager who’s excited to support day-to-day accounting, treasury, and finance operations. This role is a mix of core accounting responsibilities and ad hoc finance projects, ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, documentation, and jumping in where needed. You’ll work closely with Finance leadership to keep things running smoothly, proactively surface issues, and help improve processes as the company scales.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in developing and running a timely and accurate monthly close
- Support treasury management, monitor cash balances and partner with Finance leadership to flag risks and opportunities related to cash flow
- Prepare and support quarterly tax payments and filings, coordinating with external tax advisors as needed
- Own and prepare monthly bank reconciliations, prepare and review accrued expenses and related schedules
- Manage prepaid expenses, including setup, amortization, and reconciliation
- Prepare month-over-month (MoM) flux/variance analysis and supporting explanations
- Support month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Maintain and update accounting documentation, including Notion pages, close checklists, and process guides
- Ensure documentation is accurate, audit-ready, and consistently maintained
- Document processes and maintain internal knowledge bases (e.g., Notion; monthly accounting reconciliations)
- Proactive, collaborative, and willing to jump in where needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Previous Big 4 experience or an active CPA license
- 4–7+ years of accounting or finance experience
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and finance operations
- Experience driving key month end close processes
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and shifting priorities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Experience documenting processes and maintaining internal knowledge bases (e.g., Notion; monthly accounting reconciliations)
- Proactive, collaborative, and willing to jump in where needed

Pay
The typical base pay range for the Senior Accounting Manager role across the U.S. is: $110,000/year - $150,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. For Colorado, the salary range is: $115,000 - $140,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. This salary range is a good faith estimate of what Vetcove may pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, and experience. The range reflects the base hourly rate or annual compensation (as applicable), and does not include bonus, equity or other incentives. Schedule
