Job Description
We are seeking a highly driven Senior Accounting Manager to join a high-growth, dynamic organization and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong foundation in public accounting who thrives in fast-paced environments and is eager to build, scale, and improve accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Oversee and optimize the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP, delivering insights to senior leadership
- Parenthood and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP, delivering insights to senior leadership
- Partner closely with the CFO on financial reporting, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a small accounting team, fostering accountability, growth, and continuous improvement
- Ensure accuracy in payroll review and approval, maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations
- Drive monthly financial analysis, including variance and trend analysis, to support decision-making
- Establish, enhance, and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Lead coordination with external auditors and tax advisors for audits and compliance matters
- Oversee state and local tax compliance and filings
- Champion process improvement initiatives, automation, and efficiencies across accounting functions
- Lead or support special projects and strategic initiatives as the company scales
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm preferred)
- Minimum 3+ years of management experience, including leading and developing small teams
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in high-growth, fast-paced environments
- Proven track record of being hands-on while also leading strategically
