About the role
The Senior Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in the finance leadership team of a rapidly growing, private equity-backed manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of public accounting and private industry experience, with a focus on hands-on leadership, process improvement, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Oversee the preparation and review of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Manage financial reporting activities and support internal and external reporting requirements
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting
- Aid in annual audit activities and coordinate with external auditors
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and support scalability
- Mentor and develop accounting staff while helping manage team priorities and workflow
- Participate in ad hoc projects and leadership initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA required
- Public accounting plus private industry experience required
- Progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably within manufacturing or a related environment
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Demonstrated experience managing month-end close in a complex, fast-paced organization
- Experience working in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment is highly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

- Deep understanding of financial statement preparation and close processes
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting concepts

- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong systems proficiency
