Senior Accounting Manager
Overview
At Assort Health, we're building one continuous conversation for every patient. An AI agent that knows who you are, remembers how you like to be reached, and carries that context from your first symptom to your full recovery.
Responsibilities
Own Order-to-Cash end-to-end — from contract signature through cash application.
Design and operate the invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition workflows so that contract, provisioning, and pricing data flow seamlessly through Tabs, Stripe, and Campfire.
Lead the monthly revenue close — targeting a 5 business day close, run the three-way SFDC / Tabs / Campfire reconciliation, sign off on revenue-side journal entries, and produce audit-ready flux analysis.
Own ASC 606 revenue recognition — including technical accounting memos for usage-based revenue, multi-element arrangements, contract modifications, standalone selling price (SSP) allocations, deferred revenue, contra-revenue, and deferred sales commissions under ASC 340-40.
Lead the 2nd AICPA audit (FYE 2027) — kicking off September 2027, manage the auditor PBC list, coordinate with our external Big4/regional CPA advisors, and defend our revenue and close positions directly.
Partner cross-functionally on customer billing decisions — with the CEOs, Finance, Customer Success, and Sales teams — pricing changes, credits, refunds, billing disputes, contract amendments, package restructures.
Manage the offshore accounting team — 1-2 offshore resources supporting AR application and routine reconciliations. Set quality standards, review work product, and build the playbooks that let offshore scale.
Build revenue reporting and dashboards — AR aging, DSO trends, cash forecasting, revenue waterfall, deferred revenue roll-forward. Partner with FP&A on revenue forecast accuracy and variance analysis.
Partner with Engineering and Product — on Tabs configuration for new product launches, billing logic reviews, and revenue treatment for new SKUs and packaging changes. Sit in product reviews when revenue treatment is material.
Own sales & use tax compliance — implement a sales tax engine integrated with Tabs/Stripe, manage nexus and registrations, and run monthly filings and remittances.
Design and document internal controls — for the revenue and close cycle in preparation for SOX 404 scoping in 2027. Own the ICFR narrative for revenue.
Champion AI-first accounting workflows — you should be using Claude, ChatGPT, Notion AI, and similar tools daily for memo drafting, anomaly detection, revenue variance investigation, contract review, and audit preparation.
Requirements
Has 6-9 years of progressive accounting experience — with at least 4 years at high-growth SaaS or enterprise software companies at Series B-D stage.
Has hands-on, expert experience with a usage-based billing platform — Tabs (strongly preferred), Maxio (Chargify), Chargebee, Zuora, or Stripe Billing at meaningful scale.
Has personally written ASC 606 revenue recognition memos — and defended them to external auditors.
Multi-element arrangements, SSP allocation, contract modifications, and deferred commissions are all in your working knowledge.
Has strong three-way reconciliation muscle — across billing platform, payment processor, and general ledger.
Has direct experience with Big4 or strong regional audit firms — as the internal audit lead — you have managed a PBC list, run audit meetings, negotiated materiality, and closed an audit.
Is an expert in ERPs and ready to take on Campfire — with NetSuite as a requirement and Campfire as a strong plus.
You are fluent in many other accounting applications such as Quickbooks, Ramp, Rippling, Pulley/Carta, and others.
Is genuinely AI-first in workflow — not just "open to AI" — you already use AI tools daily and can walk through specific ways you have used them to accelerate close, audit, or memo work.
Communicates with clarity across functions — you can hold your own in a room with Engineering discussing billing logic, with Sales discussing contract terms, with the CEO discussing revenue treatment, and with auditors discussing materiality.
Is builder-oriented and comfortable in ambiguity — this is a hire that will define the O2C function.
