Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations.
- Aid in payroll billbacks.
- Draft corporate budget and assist with monthly classifications and financial reviews.
- Calculate and reconcile monthly CAM charges, percent rent and management fees.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Create and maintain documentation for accounting procedures and controls.
- Facilitate and oversee new acquisition property setup including all credit accounts, utilities, banking, treasury management, accounting and financial accounts within our software, etc.
- Lead and support special projects related to accounting.
- Assist with system implementations, process automation, and workflow improvements.
- Evaluate existing processes and recommend scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with asset management, acquisitions, and property management teams to resolve financial issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with some Finance background preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify issues, investigate root causes, and implement solutions.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both accounting and other teams.
- CPA certification (preferred)
- Hands-on experience with property management accounting software (preferred)

Compensation: $95,000/yr-$105,000/yr

Pay
The pay range for this role is: $95,000 - $105,000 USD per year (Bender Corporate Office)
Schedule
This position will require you to work in-person at our corporate office in River North, Chicago.
