About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to lead complex accounting and tax engagements, ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables, and support client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
- Oversee accounting matters and close processes
- Lead tax research and apply guidance to client-specific scenarios
- Support advanced tax planning and advisory work
- Review of financial statements and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance
- Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for clients
- Proactively identify risks, opportunities, and improvements
- Communicate complex accounting and tax matters clearly to clients with senior team members
- Team Leadership & Quality
- Ensure compliance with firm standards, policies and deadlines
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentorship
- Review work prepared by Accountants and Staff Accountants
- Aid in onboarding and training of new members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 2-5+ years of relevant combined accounting and tax experience in a local or regional CPA firm
- Proficiency in accounting and tax knowledge
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., UltraTax) preferred
- CPA Required
- Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to apply accounting principles and exercise professional judgment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including client interaction
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Pay
- Base salary of $80,000 – 85,000 plus discretionary bonus (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience)
