Senior Accountant, Technical Revenue
About the role
The Revenue Team is an extremely visible, high-performing team, ultimately responsible for accurate financial reporting of revenue. This will entail performing monthly close procedures, preparing detailed write-ups of revenue arrangements and providing recommendations for accounting-related terms during negotiations of revenue contracts. Additionally, this team is also responsible for designing and maintaining controls over reporting of revenue and assisting in quarterly forecasting activities for revenue and billings.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and review complex revenue transactions
- Provide direction on technical revenue accounting issues
- Articulate accounting impact to business partners during contract negotiation process
- Participate in month-end and quarter-end close activities
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline
- CPA a plus
- 3+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting and operations in the technology industry
- Proficient knowledge of revenue and related pronouncements (ASC 606)
- Experience working in a SOX-controlled environment
- Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems (NetSuite, Salesforce)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Comfort operating in an evolving, fast-growth environment with shifting priorities

Pay
MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is $67,000—$132,000 USD.
Schedule
This role will be based out of our Austin, Palo Alto or NYC office.
