About the Role
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions across multiple healthcare entities. This individual will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and driving process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy throughout the accounting function.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute month-end and year-end close activities for multiple entities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Support fixed asset accounting, prepaid expenses, and other key accounting areas.
- Aid in budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
- Develop and implement standardized procedures across multiple entities.
- Partner with operational leaders to streamline workflows and improve financial visibility.
- Support system enhancements and accounting automation initiatives.
- Assist with annual audits and preparation of supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and healthcare industry requirements.
- Support grant reporting, regulatory reporting, and other compliance-related activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience managing month-end close processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
