Senior Accountant II

Responsibilities
- Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements
- Draft standards to improve quality as well as actively contribute in improving and implementing global operation cycles, processes and workflows as well as the implementation of global policies and procedures
- Ensure that all IFRS, GAAP and Statutory closing and reporting tasks (e.g. annual report, reporting to regulatory authorities, NAIC reporting, other internal/external reporting requirements) related to own area of responsibility are accurate and timely on a global basis
- Complete assigned postings, Journal Entries and Account reconciliations on a periodic basis
- Reconcile and settle intercompany transactions within the affiliated company group
- Cordination, transfer and reconciliation of data from interfaces of front-end systems
- Manage relationship with 3rd parties (auditors, biz units, tax authorities, public authorities, etc.)
- Aid internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports, research and other activities

- Identify problems and opportunities for improvements; propose creative solutions that improve qualitative and quantitative performance
Requirements
- 5-7 years experience in reinsurance, P&C insurance and / or asset management
- 5-7 years experience in proven understanding of standard accounting (GAAP & IFRS) for insurance and reinsurance
- 3-5 years experience in project and team work in an international and dynamic environment
- Understanding insurance financial statements and their performance measurement including drivers
- Comprehensive knowledge of local GAAP, IAS / IFRS, Regulatory, Tax and other relevant requirements (such as Allianz Accounting policies)
- writing reporting, compliance and declaration
- Ability to handle complex processes (closing, reporting, finance operations) including understanding of data flows
- AI Literacy: AI data analysis and workflow automation using applications like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business degree
- Locally recognized professional qualification related to Accounting (e.g. CPA, ACCA, etc.), if applicable.

Benefits
The annualized base pay range for this role is $65,00 - $85,000 USD. The annual base salary range represents nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
Pay
The annualized base pay range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000 CAD. We also offer a target bonus of 5%. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
