Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Manage and maintain the company's fixed asset records, including capitalization, depreciation, additions, disposals, and periodic inventory.
- Support the annual financial statement audit and other external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends or variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Collaborate with operational leaders and finance team members to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiencies.
- Aid with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, physician practice management, or a multi-location organization.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Month-end and year-end close
- Audit preparation and support
- Fixed asset accounting
- Cash reconciliations
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- General ledger accounting
Qualifications
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing in a collaborative team environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
