What you'll own

• Financial Close & Reporting
• Run the month-end and year-end close — journal entries, accruals, and prepaids
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform flux and trend analysis on income statement accounts
• Reconcile bank, GL, and subledger accounts; chase down and resolve variances
• Technical Accounting
• Apply ASC standards to ensure accurate treatment across transactions
• Maintain fixed asset records and related reconciliations
• Audit & Compliance
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors across financial statement, sales tax, and 401(k) audits
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Cross-Functional Support
• Partner with departments across the business to keep reporting accurate and complete
• Aid with annual physical inventory and ad hoc financial analysis

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's in Accounting; CPA or active CPA candidacy required
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or operationally complex environment
• Strong command of US GAAP and core ASC standards
• A track record of owning month-end close and financial reporting
• Intermediate to advanced Excel; ERP experience required (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central a plus)
• Sharp attention to detail and a communicator who works well at every level

Where you'll work

Local to Kansas City or able to commute 1x a month to the office in Kansas City
