Senior Accountant - (Hybrid)

About the role

The Senior Accountant maintains agency accounting records, prepares related reports, and handles other financial transactions in accordance with prescribed Agency procedure and accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Communicate frequently with clients, program managers, auditors, and other agencies.
• Aid in external and internal audits.
• Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Record accounts receivable in Financial Edge.
• Record payments in SmartCare.
• Complete billing, aging review, and collection.
• Manage the process of invoices generated outside of EHR and CRM by updating our accounting system Financial Edge.
• Aid in developing and implementing systems and procedures as necessary, including computer applications to meet changing conditions and requirements, using proper documentation and control methods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• (3) or more years of related accounting experience, including practical application of accounting theory.
• Knowledge of SmartCare or EHR systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience with ERP software.
• Knowledge of UKG or other time keeping systems.
• Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

Preferred

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, with non-profit experience.
