Key job responsibilities
- Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations, including variance commentary for key stakeholders
- Compile account information and prepare monthly journal entries in accordance with established close timelines
- Support revenue accounting functions, ensuring proper recognition of hardware and subscription/software revenue streams in compliance with ASC 606
- Research complex accounting issues and recommend best practices and applications in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline data flows, improve processes, and enhance reporting accuracy
- Assist the Controller and Accounting Manager with ad hoc research, account clean-up, and reporting projects
- Assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls within area of responsibility; develop new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 3 years accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
- CPA
- Knowledge of financial controls and procedures
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
