Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and budgets in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring proper account classification, reconciliation, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Care for month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Aid with internal and external audits by furnishing necessary documentation and answering auditor inquiries. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Prepare and review tax filings, including corporate income tax returns, VAT/GST, and other tax-related reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Analyze variances between actual results and budgeted figures and provide insights for corrective actions.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Mentor and guide junior accountants or accounting staff, providing training and support as needed. Oversee their work and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. Analyze financial trends, performance metrics, and cost structures.
  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support for various projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • [5-7+] years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in financial reporting and general ledger management.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and provide guidance to team members.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
