Senior Accountant

JOB SUMMARY

Sycamores provides a spectrum of equitable mental health services through various programs to multicultural populations of all acuities. Although it serves a variety of consumers, the agency focuses primarily on providing care to low-income, high at-risk youth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage cash flow forecast.
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries to support month end close.
• Manages fixed assets and depreciation.
• Performs monthly bank reconciliations and follow up on open items.
• Performs horizontal analysis.
• Prepares year end close schedules and assist with fiscal audit.
• Affirm implementation and maintenance of internal controls and procedures in accordance with GAAP and Auditor-Controller handbook.
• Participates in annual budgeting project.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
• 2 years of relevant experience required.

• Working knowledge of financial accounting systems, Blackbaud (Financial Edge) preferred.
• Familiarity with established accounting practices, procedures, and ability to evaluate financial processes.
• Knowledge and ability to interpret and apply Code of Federal Regulations Cost Principles(2CFRpart 200) preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge in internal controls (and Sarbanes Oxley as applicable).
