About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Lafayette, California. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining the integrity of accounting records. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth execution of month-end processes and reconciliation tasks.
Responsibilities
- Complete detailed account reconciliations and analyses, promptly resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely entry of all transactions.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and understand key accounting standards such as ASC 606 and ASC 842.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including monthly reconciliation and analysis.
- Aid in annual audit preparation by creating schedules, addressing auditor requests, and coordinating with external audit teams.
- Identify and support improvements to balance sheet reconciliation processes.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications
- Own components of the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including investigating and resolving variances
- Manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and rollforward schedules
- Track and amortize prepaid expenses and ensure proper cutoff
- Partner cross-functionally to gather data and support accurate financial reporting
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial reporting
- CPA certification preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience with GAAP and accounting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

$95,000 - $110,000 USD / Yearly
